About the Trent Valley Aviation Society
The Trent Valley Aviation Society was formed in the Nineteen Eighties to offer aviation enthusiasts within the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire region the opportunity to meet with a group of like-minded people. In the beginning, the society organised minibus trips to various air shows in the United Kingdom, but more recently has focussed on regular member meetings and presentations and on occasional days out. We are a friendly institution of aviation enthusiasts who welcome everybody, irrespective of their particular aviation interests - our group is made up of aircraft spotters, professionals working in the industry, pilots, former air force personnel and those who simply have a passion for flight. We hold informal meetings once a month in the Diseworth Village Hall, which is located close to East Midlands Airport (see map below). We also usually organise a BBQ for participants in the East Midlands Airport Aeropark during the summer season months and we provide occasional trips to venues of aviation interest such as airports, air bases and factories. Once each 3 months, we send out a newsletter, to keep members up-to- date about society and it;s activities and this also incorporates different articles submitted by members, Nottingham East Midlands airport schedules, and so on. Trent Valley Aviation Society is non-profit- making, however we levy a small club fee to cover the costs of running the society.
